A Shout Out

I love hip hop, I TRULY do. However, as of late, hip hop has been losing its lackluster to me. I find myself bopping my head more than listening to deep lines, that make me PAUSE and rewind.

Nicki Minaj wasn't my first pick but she slowly grew on me. I thought she was going to be overly sexualized doll with pink hair but I am changing my tune a bit. Yes, she came out licking a lollypop (for those who saw the lil kimesq pic know what I am talking about) and hardly any clothes but then I listened to her. She didn't wrap about how deep she she is and how she can suck a mean one like alot of women rappers did. She rapped about the things the big boys rapped about. The big toys, the money, haters, and life's hardships.

She went platinum without only talking about sex in my years of listening to hip hop only few women were able to do that like Lauryn Hill. I LOVE THAT!! I She wasn't about being a dumb chick who was only known for her sex game. She had one of the hottest verses if not the hottest verse on Monster. She is running around doing songs with the elite of hip hop, without telling girls they have to have sex to get what they want. Although I don't agree with all of her image I do think she is doing her thing.

I just wanted to give her a little shout out :)

Sunshine & F**king Rainbows

Sunshine & F**king Rainbows, was written on yellow headphones this punk rocker girl was wearing on the train today. It made me smile and think "How could that be interpreted?"

I just thought of my week and how life is sunshine & f*cking rainbows. Life is good but has bumps on the road but nonetheless I am breathing, working and feeling good.

In life we sometimes survive on the negatives. For instance, thoughts like: "I hate my job" or  "it will never happen", "life sucks",  "it will get not get better".

It's always easier so sulk and be down than to pick yourself up and find ways to get that job or man. I think we are all guilty of that. Life could be way worse, you could be homeless, crazy or a paraplegic.

So although I don't have everything I want, I have so many good things in my life. For example, the weekend of New Year's my father was really getting on my nerves. I really thought he was losing it (old man syndrome lol). However, after all the drama was gone, I was grateful I have a father who has always been in my life and cares about me. I sometimes have to sit back and realize the only reason he does some of his shenanigans is because he loves me. So I just take it with a grain of salt.

With this all being said, life is Sunshine & F**king Rainbows.

Good Ole Parenting!

Now this is what the youths of today are missing! The reason why most of these young kids are out here acting a mess is because they have no parental guidance or structure in their lives. Even the ones who only pretend to be "thugs" or "bad" end up getting into real trouble because they follow other friends or think its cool to be perceived in a negative way.
