Changes- From the Heart

Dear Readers & Supporters,

It's been a while since we last spoke, since we really last updated this site and had the motivation to really DO something. We have been working on Empress for a long time now, about 8 years. The concept first came about while in college, when we realized we didn't have a magazine that really appealed to us. The name Empress was perfect because it truly reflected the message we wanted to share with our readers.

It has been one long and tumultuous relationship ever since its creation (almost a Love/Hate relationship).There were many obstacles we had to overcome. One of them was not knowing anything about web design or running a website. Another obstacle was that after we graduated college, we both took on full time jobs that further limited our resources of how much time we could spend on growing Empress.

We went through countless web designers and promises from people who wanted to help us. Many times we were left disappointed, duped out of money and left disheartened. But we always decided do keep going. We never wanted to give up because we knew that every successful business went through difficulties and hardships and it was their preservation through those adversities that made them successful.

But we do sometimes just want to stop and throw the towel in. We never wanted Empress to become another chore or thing we had to do. Empress was supposed to be our escape and refuge from the world. We were supposed to be the bosses instead of conforming and doing what others wanted to do. In time, the essence of what we first wanted seem to change and morph into something we both came to despise.

We are not giving up, but we are letting go. Letting go of the expectations and limitations that we have placed on ourselves and simply, we are just going to be ourselves. That means that for now, you will see more blogs from us, the founders of Empress with features from various writers and other bloggers which  you can find in our “Inside Empress” section.

You will hopefully find insightful information as well as humor and interesting thoughts that you can relate to. We are moving forward with a no holds bar attitude, revealing our inner thoughts and real perspectives. We feel that we have come too far just give up and therefore we are going to keep trying until there’s nothing left to try or give.
